The Museum of Jewish History in Russia joins the ‘Museums, Parks, Estates’ Academic Olympics starting 1 December 2015

The ‘Museums, Parks, Estates’ Academic Olympics will be held this year for the third time. Designed for high school students, this project is oriented exclusively toward educational goals. Participants will visit museums and complete test assignments by finding answers revealed only in the exhibitions on display.

We agree with the sponsors’ statement that ‘the “Museums, Parks, Estates” Academic Olympics will give schoolchildren of all ages a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their abilities while also enjoying themselves, expanding their horizons, visiting many new places, and becoming familiar with interesting people and facts!’

The Academic Olympics will continue until May 2016, but participants must visit the museum by 31 March! This will allow the participating museums time to process completed tests and enable the organizers to draw up final results. Schoolchildren will be given the opportunity to visit the museums that focus on themes they find closest to their own interests, whether in art, science, or history. Our museum, for example, specializes in history.

If you choose to visit our museum within the framework of this programme, then upon entrance you should receive a questionnaire and answer form. You will also need a reference card that explains the tour suitable for your class level, whether grades 8-9 or 10-11. The questions for these two age groups are different. Naturally, our tour guides will be available to help you understand the exhibitions so that you can find answers to the questions. You need to bring only enthusiasm and attention!

Important! We ask future participants kindly to register and inform us about your visit in advance, so that we can plan for your arrival. The museum’s tour guides cannot devote attention to helping visiting schoolchildren while also conducting normally scheduled tours at the same time!

After the results are completed, the Academic Olympics will award prizes in various categories. For more information on the Academic Olympics, please see the organizers’ website:

Our museum awaits the participants and wishes everyone good luck!
