The "Museums. Parks. Manors" school competition continues at our Museum.

The 13th season of the "Museums. Parks. Manors" school competition continues into the New Year. However, the holidays have brought some minor adjustments to our schedule. The Museum will welcome the competition participants starting Monday, January 5, and will then operate according to the regular schedule.
We strongly advise students to familiarize themselves with the rules of admission and conduct on the Museum premises before registering as a competitor at our Museum. 
The participants' age categories we accept are exclusive to 8th-9th and 10th-11th grades! Participants are welcome to visit on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. One can participate in the competition on-site only AFTER completing our Museums' online quiz.

"Museums. Parks. Manors." School Competition is organized jointly by the Municipal Departments of Education and Culture. The Museum for Jewish History in Russia does not provide answer sheets or register new competition participants.

An exhibition dedicated to Jewish wedding customs has opened in Moscow.

On November 26th, the exhibition "Jewish Wedding: For Each Other Since the Beginning of Time" opened in the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center. Our Museum of Jewish History in Russia and The Russian Museum of Ethnography are partners in this project. The exhibition’s curators' intention has been to showcase the symbolism of traditional wedding rituals and the ancient customs of the Jewish people, the concept of marriage and the meaning of family. 
Retaining the marriage and weddings part of the permanent exhibition, our Museum of Jewish History in Russia has contributed a loan of over 40 collection items to the newly opened exhibition. Among them are unique examples of 19th and 20th century marriage contracts from various Jewish communities, jewelry and elements of Mountain and Bukharan Jewish wedding costumes, a large collection of engagement and wedding invitations, and lithographs by Issachar Ber Ryback and Mane Katz.
